Art has the power to transform our perceptions and transport us to new worlds. Eugene Ivanov’s “Sous les Mers” is one such masterpiece that immerses us in the mysterious and fascinating world beneath the ocean’s surface.

“Sous les Mers” is an original oil painting by the Russian-born Czech artist Eugene Ivanov. It depicts an underwater scene with a submarine in the foreground, a group of scuba divers working, and some fish swimming around them. The painting measures 60cm by 50cm and is made on stretched canvas.

What strikes the viewer first is the dominant colour scheme of blues, greens, and greys, creating a cool and muted atmosphere. The submarine is dark grey, blending with the surrounding rocks and seaweed. The water is a deep blue-green, with lighter shades of turquoise and teal around the divers. The divers’ fins and suits add bright yellow and red pops, providing a contrast against the cooler tones.

The painting’s title, “Sous les Mers,” translates to “Under the Seas” in English. It’s a beautiful and evocative title that perfectly captures the underwater scene in Eugene Ivanov’s painting. It conjures up a sense of mystery, depth, and the wonders hidden beneath the ocean surface.

Through the portholes or windows of the submarine, you can see the people inside; some are working, and others are dining and drinking. The use of colour in this painting creates a sense of mystery and depth. The dark blues and greens of the water suggest the vastness and the unknown of the ocean depths. The muted colours of the submarine and rocks make them seem almost camouflaged in their surroundings. The brighter colours of the divers’ fins and suits stand out against this backdrop, providing a focal point for the composition.

Overall, “Sous les Mers” is a stunning piece of art that portrays the beauty and mystery of the underwater world. It is a must-see for anyone who appreciates the power of art to transport and transform us. If you’re looking for a unique and captivating addition to your art collection, this painting is an excellent choice.
